Stopped painting in 1984 to pursue a career as a musician and restore an Edwardian house. Started painting seriously again in 2003. Lives and works in York. David has mainly focussed on the rolling landscape of the East Yorkshire Wolds.
Using a glazing technique derived from fifteenth and sixteenth century Flemish and Venetian painting, David combines an interest in composed landscape with a contemporary vision.
David completed a new collection of work for an exhibition at Medici Gallery in April 2011.
David is also a multi-instrumentalist and plays in The Crocker Brothers, one of the UK's premier acoustic/bluegrass bands.
